Nepali calendar 2083 at a glance

The Nepali calendar, or Bikram Sambat (BS), is the official calendar of Nepal. Government offices, banks, schools, land records and most notices use BS dates, so a reliable patro is one of the most used tools in the country. Year 2083 BS started on 14 April 2026 (Baisakh 1) and ends on 13 April 2027 (Chaitra 30).

Unlike the English calendar, BS months do not have fixed lengths. A month can have 29, 30, 31 or 32 days, and the lengths change from year to year. That is why a BS date cannot be converted with a simple formula; it needs a table of month lengths, which this calendar uses for every year from 2000 to 2090 BS.

    Public holidays in 2083

The holidays in this calendar follow the Ministry of Home Affairs list for 2083 BS, published in the Nepal Gazette. The biggest breaks are Dashain (Asoj 25 Ghatasthapana, then Asoj 31 to Kartik 6) and Tihar (Kartik 22 to 26), followed by Chhath on Kartik 29. Some holidays apply only to certain groups, such as Teej for women employees or Indra Jatra in the Kathmandu Valley; these are shaded differently. Holidays that follow the lunar calendar, such as Eid, are announced closer to the date and are not shown.
