Reduce PDF size for online forms
Online application portals, from Loksewa and university admissions to bank and embassy forms, often limit uploads to a few hundred KB or 1 to 2 MB. Scanned documents from a phone or photocopier are usually much larger. This tool redraws each page as a compressed image to bring the size down, and it does it inside your browser so your documents stay private.
How to compress
- Choose your PDF.
- Pick a level. Recommended keeps text readable for most scans. Use Strong if you must get under a tight limit.
- Tick black & white for text documents; it often halves the size again.
- Click Compress PDF and check the new size shown.
Tips to get under a size limit
- Remove pages you do not need first with Split PDF.
- If you are uploading a single photo or signature, use the image compressor instead. It can target an exact KB size.
- PDFs made directly from Word or AutoCAD are already small and may not shrink. That is normal.

Why can't I select text after compressing?
Pages are turned into images to save space. That is ideal for scans, which are images anyway. For documents with real text, keep the original for editing and use the compressed copy only for uploading.
