Free NEC and Lok Sewa mock tests for civil engineers

This is a free question bank of 2,100+ multiple choice questions for civil engineers in Nepal. Every question has an answer and a short explanation, and every calculation can be worked by hand. Use it to prepare for the Nepal Engineering Council licence exam, Lok Sewa Aayog engineer and sub-engineer exams, provincial and local level PSC exams, and technical exams of NEA, KUKL, CAAN and other public bodies.

The questions are written by our team from the official syllabi, Indian Standard codes, the Nepal National Building Code and standard textbooks, and each chapter has been checked a second time by a separate reviewer. They are not copied from coaching books or guess papers.

How to use it

  • Mock tests build a fresh paper each time in the pattern of the real exam, with a timer, a question navigator, mark-for-review and negative marking where the exam uses it. At the end you get your marks, chapter-wise accuracy and a review of every answer.
  • Practice by topic lets you drill one chapter or sub-section, either with the answer shown after each question or as a timed set.
  • My progress keeps your recent scores, accuracy by chapter, your mistakes and saved questions in this browser. Practise your mistakes until the list is empty.
  • On a computer you can press A, B, C or D to answer and the arrow keys to move between questions.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions are there?

2,142 civil engineering questions across the ten NEC chapters and a chapter of extra Lok Sewa topics, plus a small set of general engineering questions for all branches. We add more regularly.

Are the questions from past papers?

No. They are original questions on the topics that past papers test again and again, such as brick and cement tests, effective stress, SFD and BMD, IS 456 clauses, CPM floats and the NEC Act. Practising them builds the same knowledge without relying on leaked or copied papers.
